MH-60T Sustainment program adds five hulls to IDIQ contract

The Coast Guard ordered five new H-60 hulls for its helicopter fleet July 6, bringing the total number of hulls ordered on the existing indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract with Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation of Stratford, Connecticut, to 30 hulls. Total value of this delivery order is just over $34 million.

Coast Guard Cutter Thunder Bay completes HVAC upgrade

Coast Guard Cutter Thunder Bay departed Coast Guard Yard in Curtis Bay, Maryland, June 18 after completion of an HVAC system upgrade to increase heating and cooling capacities. Thunder Bay is the second of nine 140-foot icebreaking tugs to undergo this work.

Coast Guard accepts delivery of last LRI II cutter boat

The Coast Guard accepted delivery of the 12th and final long range interceptor II (LRI II) in Charleston, South Carolina, in April. This program delivered one LRI II for each of the first nine national security cutters (NSCs) and a maintenance relief hull for each NSC homeport – Charleston, South Carolina, Alameda, California, and Honolulu.

Coast Guard cutters arrive at Bahrain homeport

Coast Guard fast response cutters (FRCs) Charles Moulthrope and Robert Goldman arrived at their new homeport of Manama, Bahrain, May 25. They are the first two of six FRCs to be assigned to Patrol Forces Southwest Asia (PATFORSWA). Additional cutters are planned for arrival in 2022 and 2023. The FRCs will replace the existing Coast Guard Island-class patrol boats Aquidneck and Adak.
