Health, Safety and Work-Life Service Center

By the authority of the Commandant Operating Facility Change Order Number 006-13, the Commanding Officer, Health Safety and Work-Life (HSWL) Service Center (SC) is vested with all the rights, responsibilities, duties, and authority of a Commanding Officer as provided for in United States Coast Guard Regulations 1992, COMDTINST M5000.3 (series). In order to facilitate US Coast Guard interaction with the Department of Defense Military Health System (MHS) and the TRICARE program, the Commanding Officer, HSWL SC is designated as the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) Commander and Intermediate Service Representative for all US Coast Guard practice locations (medical and or dental officers assigned). Per Deputy Commandant for Mission Support guidance for Logistics and Service Centers, the Commanding Officer HSWL SC oversees the systems used, services rendered, techniques and practices followed, as well as the utilization and prioritization of resources in the field in the delivery of services/support, thus exercising the sole technical and professional authority for the delivery of health, safety and work-life services.
