COVID-19: Calendar Year 2021 Travel and Leave SITREP 2

This ALCOAST cancels SITREP 1 (ALCOAST 046/21) and revises procedures for foreign/domestic leave and travel. Due to current trends of the pandemic combined with the national vaccination effort, leave and travel approval policies, except for unofficial foreign travel, are returned to pre-pandemic status. However, leave and travel approving officials should weigh individual member vaccination status (vaccinated versus un-vaccinated) and site specific location COVID-19 conditions when conducting readiness risk assessment and approving leave and travel requests.

Good to go: USCG authorizes PCS and HHG shipments for 2021

PCS and household good shipments are authorized until further notice, and the Coast Guard is optimistic that the 2021 PCS season will go smoothly. Key initiatives from last year will remain in place to support members relocating due to permanent change of station (PCS) orders. Meanwhile, a New Shipmate Form will help units make the transition easier for their new members. Assignment Year 2021 PCS and HHG Shipments - SITREP

ALCOAST message 030/21 provides information ​and resources for Coast Guard members transferring in the upcoming assignment year. While the information provided in the message will be of particular interest to those transferring in AY21, it also includes critical information to commands, supervisors, and SPO/ADMIN offices to assist their members in planning, preparing for, and executing PCS orders.

Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) Selection for Government Funded Shipment of POVs

ALCOAST 465/20: COVID-19: Temporary Change to the CG Supplement to JTR - Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) Selection. Due to the effects of COVID-19 to the shipping and transportation industry, the mandatory use of the closest VPC is temporarily relaxed until 31 Dec 2021. Members may utilize the VPC of their choosing as long as that facility is the closest to their old PDS, new PDS, or along the direct route between the two.

Hardship Duty Pay-Restriction of Movement and other COVID-19 Pay and Allowances

ALCOAST 278/20 formally authorizes, as of 03 April 2020, HARDSHIP DUTY PAY-RESTRICTION OF MOVEMENT (HDP-ROM) and other temporary policy changes for several travel allowance, Food Service policy, and certain Special & Incentive (S&I) pays as part of the overall military effort to support our members and their families during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Pay and Personnel Center is now processing these claims in accordance with the following guidelines and procedures.
