USCG Base Kodiak Personnel Support


The Personnel Department consists of the following divisions:

  • Personnel Services Division (PSD)
    The Personnel Services Division provides a variety of services including: Movement of Personnel counseling, Separations processing, travel claim assistance GTCC applications and account maintenance, Weight Program Management, Early Return of Dependent requests, ID card services, Overseas Entry Approval, CG Mutual Assistance loan/grant applications, Emergency Leave Orders, etc. Please visit our webpage for more information. 
  • Servicing Personnel Division (SPO)
    The Servicing Personnel Office (SPO) branch maintains and updates personnel data records and resolves personnel and pay issues for various assigned commands in the Seventeenth District.
  • Morale, Well-Being, and Recreation Division (MWR)
    Embodying the Coast Guard's motto of Semper Paratus, meaning "Always Ready," the mission of Coast Guard Base Kodiak Morale, Well-Being, and Recreation Division (MWR) is to provide a way to meet Coast Guard mission readiness and uplift the spirits of the Coast Guard families through customer-focused MWR programs and services. Serving active duty military, family members, and other MWR eligible patrons residing in the area, our facilities offer many instructional, physical fitness and leisure time activities including bowling, auto hobby, athletic contests, golfing, swimming, youth activities, restaurants, sports pub, equipment check out, boating, movies, and ticket sales. We operate a guest house to provide temporary lodging to personnel in transit through Kodiak, a fitness center and pool that provide excellent fitness equipment, and year-round outdoor exercise opportunities. Specialty services include meeting and party rental facilities, athletic fields, and an extremely popular morale boat house operation to catch fresh Alaskan king salmon and halibut. Equipment and programs for hiking, fishing, and camping provide continuous fun-filled adventures. MWR gives active duty members a chance to have a great recreation break during their tour of duty and the families a chance to feel like part of the community. We help join people together to share their Alaskan experiences.

  • Education Center
    The Education Center mission is to provide rock solid support to Base Kodiak personnel, all tenant commands and visiting units.  The Education Center supports military and civilian employees in the pursuit of personal and professional educational goals. Visit or contact the Education Center for information about the educational opportunities that are available to you. We tailor our advice to your needs, interests and desires. We provide a clearinghouse of information on colleges, universities, education and training programs; we administer Search and Rescue Fundamentals exams, Introduction to Maritime Law Enforcement exams, Deck Watch Officer exams and Servicewide Exams (SWEs); we assist active duty members with Tuition Assistance and Credentialing Programs; we administer ASVAB retests, Defense Language Proficiency Tests, Aviation Selection Test Battery tests, Federal Aviation Administration exams and college/university exams upon request; we liaison with colleges and universities that provide service our members; we provide information on financial aid for education; and we provide workshops called “Managing Your (MY) Education”.
