SURGE STAFFING REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBJECT OPERATIONS WILL BE A SUSTAINED AND HIGH PRIORITY EFFORT FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE. SOME ORDERS ARE NOW BEING ISSUED BY PRIORITY MESSAGE TRAFFIC WITH SHORT TIME FRAMES FOR REPORT DATES. 2. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT ORDERS ARE PROCESSED AND ISSUED WITHIN 24 HOURS OF MESSAGE RECEIPT FOR BOTH ACTIVE AND RESERVE FORCES, TO ENSURE MEMBERS CAN REPORT AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE IN THEATRE. 3. FOR ACTIVE DUTY MEMBERS, COMMANDS/SPOS SHALL AUTHENTICATE THE SELECT AND DIRECT MESSAGE BY PRINTING IT, ENDORSING IT, SIGNING IT, AND MARKING THEM AS ORIGINAL. THE MESSAGE SERVES AS THE AUTHORITY FOR THE ACTIVE DUTY MEMBERS TO INITIATE TRAVEL. NO FURTHER ORDERS FOR THE ACTIVE DUTY MEMBERS TO INITIATE TRAVEL. NO FURTHER ORDERS DOCUMENTATION ARE REQUIRED. 4. FOR RESERVE MEMBERS, DISTRICT (DXR) OFFICES AND SPOS MAY NEED TO STAFF WEEKENDS TO MEET THE 24 HOUR STANDARD FOR ENTRY AND APPROVAL OF ORDERS. SPOS MUST ALSO ENTER PAY TRANSACTIONS FOR RESERVE MEMBERS PRIOR TO THE NEXT PAY CUT DATE TO ENSURE THEIR PAY WILL START ON TIME.
