U. S. Coast Guard Mentoring Program (Flag Voice 544)

I am pleased to announce open enrollment for the Coast Guard Mentoring Program.  As discussed in Flag Voice 542, our new Mentoring Program is available to the entire Coast Guard workforce, including active duty, reserve component, and civilian employees – anyone who has a “.mil” email address. The Coast Guard Mentoring Program is powered by software that can be accessed through web browsers and on mobile devices.  Please consider becoming a mentor and encourage your personnel to enroll now (the link is available at https://coastguard.chronus.com); matching will be open starting on May 01, 2021, for members to start making their mentoring connections.

As a reminder, the Coast Guard Mentoring Program offers four types of mentoring connections to help personnel take their careers to the next level:

  • One-to-One Mentoring - Traditional mentoring connection between mentees and mentors.  No more than two mentees will be assigned to a mentor.
  • Communities Marketplace (Circle Mentoring) - Connects Coast Guard personnel with shared interests in a wide variety of communities to enrich career development.
  • Fresh Perspectives: Insight From Future Leaders - Empowering emerging leaders to share their insights in a group setting with senior leadership.
  • Flash Mentoring - One-time/speed mentoring, enables mentees to receive guidance on specific issues or topics from subject matter experts.

Any questions may be directed the Office of Leadership (CG-128) through the program email: Mentoringprogram@uscg.mil. Please join me to help make the Coast Guard Mentoring Program a great success!
