SUBJ: AWARDS UPDATE
A. Coast Guard Military Medals and Awards Manual,
COMDTINST M1650.25 (series)
1. The purpose of this ALCGPSC is to remind units of the requirements
outlined in Ref A, which directs units to provide PSC-PSD-mua timely
copies of all Unit, Campaign, Service, and Expeditionary Awards
approved at their level. This allows PSC-PSD-mua to maintain accurate
historical award records and provide updated information to the field.
2. PSC-PSD-mua's goal is to release an annual message to remind units
to submit approved awards to ensure the information is up-to-date and
provide a current listing of these awards on the Internet and Share
Point. The information will be utilized in updates to Ref A and will
be maintained on the following websites:
Internet: Personnel Services Division - Medals & Awards (uscg.mil)
and Sharepoint: https://uscg.sharepoint-mil.us/sites/psc_spo
3. AWARD SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
a. Units are required to provide PSC-PSD-mua with a copy of the
following unit awards: Unit Commendations, Meritorious Unit
Commendations, and Ribbon.
b. Additionally, submissions of Service, Campaign, and Expeditionary
Awards are required.
c. A copy of the awards package must include a complete copy of the
recommendation with endorsements, signed Coast Guard Award
Recommendation, Form CG-1650, Summary of Action when required, roster
of personnel, and a signed/dated citation. Submissions are to be
forwarded to CG PSC-PSD-mua at ARL.AWDSMAN@uscg.mil for filing in the
Coast Guard Official Award Files and entry in the appropriate
enclosures to COMDTINST M1650.25 (series).
4. CONCURRENCE REQUESTS:
a. Requests from Other U.S. Military Services for Coast Guard Personnel.
All requests for concurrence from other services must be
submitted to PSC-PSD-mua via email to ARL.AWDSBOARD@uscg.mil for
approval. Concurrence requests must include the awards recommendation
form used by the awarding authority service and signed by the awarding
authority, summary of action, and a completed/signed certificate and
citation. A copy of the TDY orders must be provided.
b. Requests from the Coast Guard for Other Military Service Personnel.
Concurrence requests for Coast Guard awards to other service
personnel will be forwarded to CG PSC-PSD-mua via email to
ARL.AWDSBOARD@uscg.mil. Requests must contain the awards
recommendation form signed by the awarding authority, summary of
action, and a completed/signed certificate and citation. The parent
servicesâ€™ policy for concurrence regarding their personnel takes
precedence to this paragraph.
c. Requests for concurrence should be forwarded via email to
ARL.AWDSBOARD@uscg.mil. Please include in the subject the submission
is a CONCURRENCE REQUEST.
d. Foreign military members are not authorized to receive service
awards (e.g., Special Operation Service Ribbon).
