CDR Mario B. Teixeira, USCG
Commander Mario B. Teixeira assumed the duties and responsibilities as Coast Guard Base Boston Executive Officer on 16 June 2021. In this capacity, he is responsible for oversight of all Coast Guard First District Mission Support functions, under leadership of CAPT Amy Grable, Base Boston Commanding Officer, and in partnership with Coast Guard Base Cape Cod.
Commander Teixeira’s previous tours include Comptroller and Base Operations Department Head at Base Boston; Procurement, Construction & Improvements (PC&I) Appropriation Manager within COMDT (CG-831); Operating & Maintenance (AFC-30) Allowance Manager within COMDT (CG-832); Marine Inspections at Coast Guard Sector Miami; Project Manager of Biometrics at Sea at Coast Guard Research & Development Center, and Damage Control Assistant aboard the CGC FORWARD in Portsmouth, VA.
CDR Teixeira graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. In 2014, CDR Teixeira earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, as well as a Graduate Certificate from the Landegger Program in International Business Diplomacy. CDR Teixeira also holds the Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) certification.
CDR Teixeira’s awards include the Coast Guard Meritorious Service Medal, Commendation Medal (3), and various unit and team awards. CDR Teixeira was married in 2008 to LCDR Stacy Teixeira, currently the Emergency Management & Force Readiness Chief at Sector Southeastern New England. They have six year-old twins, Cristiano and Nina.
