Leadership and Management School (LAMS) Completion Deadline for Servicewide Exam Waiver Process Guidance

PPC (ADV) has created a process guide which provides reference to policy, procedures and information on submitting Leadership and Management School (LAMS) completion deadline waivers to PPC. LAMS completion deadline waivers are available to allow for certain provisions where individuals are unable to complete LAMS prior to the Servicewide Examination Eligibility Date (SED).

Distribution of Finalized DD-214

The implementation of electronic transmission of DD Form 214 data to the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) is complete. The Veterans Administration, State Directors of Veterans Affairs, and the Department of Labor have access to DD Form 214 data. SPOs are not required to produce and distribute paper copies 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8. DMDC is the official distribution source of the Military Services authoritative and certified information for all periods of active duty that are completed on or after January 1, 2015.

IT Procurement and Acquisition Support Site Launched

ALCOAST ACN 141/19 provides information​ on the updated information technology (IT) acquisition and procurement review process and announces a new IT Procurement & Acquisition Support Site (ITPASS). ITPASS is available for use to serve as the CIO’s “front door” for all IT procurement and acquisition requests. Within the ITPASS, users can access the new USCG ITAR Tool which automates the ITAR process and move workflows and communications from e-mail to the web.

Obligated Service Requirement to Attend Class "A" School

In order for a member to execute orders to Class A School they must have at least 24 months of service remaining on their enlistment upon graduation from Class A School. It is the responsibility of the member’s Personnel and Admin Office to ensure the member meets the 24 month obligated service requirement prior to executing orders to Class A School.
