ALCOAST: EPA Hazardous Waste Pharmaceutical Rule Technical Guidance

The purpose of this document is to provide the procedures Coast Guard units should follow for the management of pharmaceutical waste. This document outlines the federal regulatory requirements promulgated in Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 266 Subpart P, Management Standards for Hazardous Waste Pharmaceuticals and Amendment to the P075 Listing for Nicotine, effective on August 21, 2019, and provides the necessary measures to attain compliance with this rule.

COMMANDANT INSTRUCTION 5090.1 U.S. COAST GUARD ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING POLICY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING IMPLEMENTING PROCEDURES

On April 23, 2019 CG-47 released the U.S. Coast Guard Environmental Planning Policy, COMDTINST 5090.1 (series) (EP CI) and the Environmental Planning Implementing Procedures (EP IP). The EP CI mandates the use of the EP IP. Coast Guard members engaged in environmental planning efforts or taking actions that trigger the National Environmental Policy Act or Executive Order 12114 requirements must read both the EP CI and IP in order to implement their requirements effectively.
