SUBJ: PROMULGATION OF THE INVITATIONAL TRAVEL AUTHORIZATIONS,
COMDTINST 12570.3G
A. Invitational Travel Authorizations, COMDTINST 12570.3G
B. Invitational Travel Authorizations, COMDTINST 12570.3F
1. This ALCOAST announces an updated version as REF (A). The
previous version REF (B) is hereby cancelled.
2. Enclosure 3 of the Instruction has been changed to reflect
that all authorizing officials for ITAs must be in the grade of
O-8 or higher. This authority may not be delegated to a civilian
or to a servicemember below the grade of O-8. This change brings
Coast Guard's policy in alignment with the Joint Travel Regulation's
requirement that the authorizing official for ITAs may be no lower
than a two-star Flag Officer. Additionally, all usage of the term
"approving official" was replaced with the term "authorizing
official".
3. These policy changes were incorporated into REF (A), which
will be issued.
4. This message will be cancelled on 31 DEC 2023.
5. POC: Jennifer Leung, Chief, Office of Civilian Workforce
Management.
6. Dr. D. M. Navarro, Acting Assistant Commandant for
Human Resources (CG-1), sends.
7. Internet release is authorized.
