The Coast Guard took delivery of its 18th fully missionized HC-130J long range surveillance aircraft on Feb. 7, 2026, at L3Harris Integrated Mission Systems in Waco, Texas. The aircraft will support the transition of Air Station Sacramento, California, from C-27J aircraft to HC-130Js later this year. 

The Coast Guard on Sept. 18, 2025, contracted with L3 Harris Technologies Inc. for delivery of three AN/APY-11 multi-mode radar systems, valued at $13.9 million, to be installed on future HC-130Js during the Minotaur missionization process. 

The Coast Guard’s HC-130J fleet marked a major milestone on July 8, 2025, surpassing 100,000 flight hours since the first HC-130J was delivered to the service in 2003. Reaching 100,000 flight hours demonstrates the exceptional reliability and operational value of the HC-130J fleet.

Long Range Interceptor-II

The LRI-II extends the NSC’s and other host vessels’ mission reach, providing high-speed pursuit, interdiction and rescue capabilities.

Over the Horizon-IV

The OTH-IV is the quick response boat for the NSC and other host vessels.

The Coast Guard engaged industry at the 2018 International Workboat Show Nov. 29, 2018 to provide an early look at the upcoming OTH-V project. The Coast Guard released a request for information (RFI) Dec. 7, 2018, to gather additional information about the Over the Horizon V cutter boat acquisition. The RFI is available here. 

The Coast Guard on Aug. 30, 2018, awarded a firm-fixed price indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract to MetalCraft Marine U.S. Incorporated of Cape Vincent, New York, for a fleet of cutter boats-large.
