About the Course
As officers and civilian personnel transition to roles of greater responsibility and broader impact, their leadership abilities and approaches must evolve to handle more complex leadership challenges. The primary focuses of MOCTC are Leading Self and Leading Others with learning outcomes that enhance self-awareness, critical thinking, and interpersonal mastery. MOCTC aims to provide graduates developmental experiences to prepare them for service
as Coast Guard leaders who:
- Evaluate his/her self-awareness to discover intrinsic motivations and formulate a plan for self-improvement
- Analyze and improve the level of critical thinking to be prepared for future adaptive challenges
- Develop the capacity to engage in higher levels of productive relationships

Duration
MOCTC is delivered in a blended format with online pre-work and a 1 week in-person resident session. The required online pre-work includes completing two personal leadership assessment surveys and a personal leadership philosophy draft. Students who fail to complete the online coursework will be disenrolled prior to the residency period.
Eligibility
The target audience for MOCTC is Active Duty and Reserve O-3s, GS-12s and GS-11's that have recently assumed supervisory roles are encouraged to apply.
Application Procedures
Coordinate with your Training Officer or ESO to submit an Electronic Training Request (ETR) using Direct Access. Reservists must route their request through their command to (DXR/AREA/DOL) via the CGR-TMS process.
