DHS Joint Duty Program

PRINT  |  E-MAIL

The DHS Joint Duty Program (JDP) is a professional development program designed to prepare senior civilians (typically GS-13 through GS-15) for executive-level responsibilities. Modeled after the military’s joint-service requirements, the JDP emphasizes working across departmental lines on complex, multi-agency issues. Completion of a Joint Duty detail assignment is often a key milestone for those aspiring to the Senior Executive Service (SES), as it demonstrates the ability to lead in a collaborative, multi-component environment.
