To schedule your routine pap exam please call (504)253-4671. If you have a history of abnormal pap exams please expect a referral to a specialist for this exam.

MEDICAL LABORATORY

Lab hours of operation:
Monday – Thursday 0700 – 1100 & 1300-1430 (for authorized walk-ins) and Friday 0700 - 1100 (for authorized walk-ins)

Lab procedures for having blood work done:

Fasting labs require the member to not have any food at least 12 hours prior to blood work to be drawn. It is highly recommended that you drink plenty of water ONLY prior to getting labs drawn. Water keeps you hydrated and makes drawing blood easier. The lab technician is not authorized to draw blood without a Provider’s (MD, PA) prior authorization.

Please call the medical front desk at (504)253-4671 for availability Monday – Thursday 0700-1100 and 1300-1500, Friday 0700 - 1100.

EYE EXAMS

Base New Orleans utilizes NAS JRB Belle Chasse or Keesler Air Force Base Optometry service for care.

At the Navy optometry, you can get the eye exam and order eyewear at the same place.

AVAILABILITY OF CARE

Retired personnel or dependants enrolled in TRICARE Prime options are not eligible for non-emergent care in Base New Orleans Coast Guard Clinic.
