-Gym/Pool and fitness activities/facilities open to all eligible MWR Patrons. Reservations are no longer required.
-Outdoor contact sports, Whaleboat Team practice and indoor gym classes are authorized for fully vaccinated members and MWR Patrons.
Anticipate expanding CDC hours to 0630-1630 on 15JUN21 and resumption of full Base Alameda CDC services/capacity by 19JUL21 as we finalize new hires and open more spaces in the Preschool room.
Per ALCOAST 185/21 and consistent with updated Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance, fully vaccinated personnel (who are at least two weeks beyond their final dose) are no longer required to wear a mask indoors or outdoors onboard federal facilities, CG cutters, small boats, or aircraft. This includes fully vaccinated onsite contractors and visitors. All Coast Guard personnel must continue to comply with CDC guidance regarding areas where masks should be worn, including within airports, certain health care settings, and public and private mass transit. All personnel shall continue to report any COVID symptoms they are experiencing immediately, and personnel who are not fully vaccinated shall continue to follow applicable CDC guidelines, including continuing to wear masks indoors and while transiting throughout Base Alameda.

Established February 15, 2012, Base Alameda provides a wide variety of services in direct support of Coast Guard activities throughout the West Coast. Base Alameda departments:
Personnel Support includes the management of approximately 700 CG-owned Housing units, transportation of household goods, the Child Development Center (CDC), Morale, Recreation and Welfare (MWR), and personnel support services. Facilities maintenance is provided to all tenant commands and detached units on Coast Guard Island Alameda, and industrial support is provided throughout the West Coast.
Base Alameda is located on Coast Guard Island in Alameda, California and is home to a variety of tenant commands.
Other Base customers are CGIS Pacific Region, Legal Service Command West, DOL-43, DOL-44, CG-1211W, PSC Det. Alameda, Civil Rights Det. Region 3, SFLC Det. Alameda, SILC Det. Alameda, FORCECOM Alameda, and FORCECOM Armory.
