Services & Eligibility
Prescription Services
Prescription services are available exclusively for Active Duty personnel and their dependents. Medications provided by the KMC pharmacy are free of charge, and we can dispense up to a 90-day supply for most medications.
Other TRICARE beneficiaries can fill prescriptions through a network retail pharmacy or the TRICARE Mail Order Program (TMOP).
Vaccines
Vaccines are available for Active Duty personnel only.
Medication Availability
We maintain a formulary of commonly prescribed medications. Most other medications can be ordered and are typically available for pickup within 1–2 business days. Please call the pharmacy to inquire about specific medication availability.
Submitting and Refilling Prescriptions
New Prescriptions
We accept new prescriptions from both military and civilian providers using one of the following methods:
- Electronic Prescriptions (e-Prescribe): This is the preferred and fastest method. Ask your provider to send electronic prescriptions to: USCG Cape Cod Pharmacy.
- Hard-Copy Prescriptions: You may also bring a physical, hand-signed prescription to the pharmacy. Please ensure it is legible and complete with the following information:
- Patient's full name
- Date the prescription was written
- Provider's signature (Electronic or stamped signatures are not accepted)
- Medication name and strength
- Quantity
- Clear directions for use (Instructions like "use as directed" are not acceptable)
Prescription Refills
- Preferred Method: Request refills through the MHS Genesis Patient Portal.
- Phone Request: Call the pharmacy at (206) 815-7461, Option 3. Please leave a clear message including your full name, date of birth, the prescription number(s) you are requesting, and a contact phone number.
- In Person Request: Requests in person will be processed as soon as possible based on availability and pharmacy workflow.
- Pickup Time: Most refills will be ready for pickup after 1300 the following business day.
Prescription Transfers
We can transfer prescriptions with remaining refills from outside retail pharmacies to the KMC Pharmacy. Please be aware that, by law, a prescription can only be transferred once. If a prescription is transferred out from our pharmacy, it cannot be transferred again. Transfers can only be processed when a pharmacist is on duty.
