Morale, Well-Being, and Recreation Services Program (MWR)

The Mission of the Coast Guard Morale, Well-Being, and Recreation (MWR) Program is to uplift the spirits of the Coast Guard Family and be an essential element of Coast Guard readiness and retention through customer-owned and driven MWR programs and services.

Neither the Base New Orleans MWR nor the Regional MWR offices provide any Information, Tickets & Tours (ITT) outlets.  Please visit your nearest office.

Regional MWR:

Location: Coast Guard Building, Personnel Support Department, Room 144

Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday: 0800 – 1530

The Eighth Coast Guard Districts Regional MWR Director’s office is attached to CG Base NOLA. The Director provides MWR program policy guidance to the field units. The sporting and shipmate fund grant programs are a couple of the popular programs managed through this office. Proceeds from our CG Exchange are distributed through the Director to the field units from HQ, USCG Community Services Command. All quarterly morale fund financial statements are audited by the Director. CG Commands and their MWR appointed officers and their committees are encouraged to contact the Director directly. Morale officer and custodial training including audit compliance criteria will be offered via teleconference.

Base MWR:

Location: Coast Guard Building, Procurement & Contracting Department, Room 237

Hours: Monday through Friday: 0800 – 1500

The CG Base New Orleans morale officer oversees the morale committee, budget and gear locker. A multitude of activities throughout the year are offered and advertised to patrons attached directly to the Base command and authorized tenant commands.
