Check Out: Coast Guard Retirees Now Can Pay TRICARE Enrollment Fees by Allotment

Group A retirees now pay enrollment fees to maintain their TRICARE Select or TRICARE Overseas Program Select coverage. If you're a U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Public Health Service, or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) retiree, you can now pay your enrollment fees by allotment. This will allow you to have your enrollment fees deducted automatically from your military retirement pay.

Electronics Technician (ET) Bonuses

​ACN 018/21 announces the authorization of an Enlistment Bonus (EB) and Critical Skills Training Bonus (CSTB). Bonuses are authorized for eligible members with an ET Class A-School convening date after 30 SEP 2020. Members who are currently in ET Class A-school or have graduated, with a class convening date after 30 SEP 2020, must engage with their servicing SPO or Admin shop for bonus determination and obligated​ service requirements.

Known Issue: Coast Guard Standard Meal Rate (CGSMR) Auto-Start

​If a member’s PCS Transfer Job Data row is not built (should populate upon the approval of the PCS Reporting endorsement), the CGSMR will not automatically start. If this occurs, a help ticket must be submitted to PPC to have the PCS Transfer Job Data row manually added. The SPO MUST manually start CGSMR. The SPO does not have to wait for the Job Data row to be added.

Civilians getting a new performance management system

In 2008, civilian GS supervisors successfully transitioned from the Excellence, Achievement, and Recognition System (EARS) to the Department of Homeland Security Performance Management Program (DHS PMP). The Coast Guard is now preparing to transition all GS employees to DHS PMP. At the same time, the service will launch ePerformance, an automated performance management tool through FedHR.

Fiscal Year 2021 Deadline for Scheduling Inactive Duty Training

Per ALCOAST 057/21, the FY21 deadline for scheduling Inactive Duty Training (IDT) drills, Readiness Management Periods (RMP), and Additional Training Periods (ATP) has been extended. IDT drills, ATPs, and RMPs for pay should be scheduled in Direct Access (DA) as early as possible, and NLT 30 June 2021 unless otherwise exempt by ALCOAST 343/20.​
