Subscribers to this list will receive notices and information on Coast Guard military pay and personnel policy and procedures. Subscribers will also be notified when active duty and reserve payslips are posted and of both scheduled and unscheduled outages affecting the Direct Access personnel system or the TPAX travel claim liquidation system. About ADV

ADV Branch Functions: Under the general direction and supervision of the Chief, Customer Service Division, the Chief, Advancements Branch shall:

  1. Manage the CG Enlisted Advancement system, SWE testing process, Supplemental Advancement process,  and Striker program.
     
    1. See our Enlisted Advancements page for more information.
       
  2. Compile and provide advancement profile letters and Personnel Data Extracts (PDE) to CG enlisted personnel.
     
  3. Publish the PPC Advancement Newsletter.
     
  4. Prepare and mail all active duty and reserve Chief Petty Officer, Senior Chief Petty Officer and Master Chief Petty Officer certificates.

  5. Correct member data errors in Direct Access.
     
  6. Perform Service and Sea Service validations.

Change to May 2021 Servicewide Examination Administration Schedule

ALCGENL 039/21 Update 1, May 2021 Servicewide​ Examination Competition, announced additional flexibility in administering the exam: The new schedule is: a. AM and PM 04 MAY 2021 (Tuesday) SWE for ADV to E-5, b. AM and PM 05 MAY 2021 (Wednesday) SWE for ADV to E-6, c. AM 06 MAY 2021 (Thursday) SWE for ADV to E-7, d. PM 06 MAY 2021 (Thursday) SWE for ADV to E-8​.

Updated study guide for Service Wide Exam

FORCECOM established a bank of over 500 questions upon which the Enlisted Professional Military Education (EPME) section of the test will be based. With input from the field, the collaborative team of subject matter experts, and senior enlisted leaders, removed outdated questions and references were updated so members can be more efficient while studying the content. The references are now based on where the most current and relevant information is located. Piloting the use of a question bank to help guide learning begins with the MAY21 SWE and will continue for at least two testing cycles to collect data and determine the impact.

Mandatory Updates to MILCONNECT (Flag Voice 541)

Coast Guard employees are required to update their work contact information in milConnect, as part of the ongoing transition from the Commercial Virtual Remote (CVR) version of Microsoft Teams to Coast Guard Teams and in order to meet the requirements set forth by US CYBER COMMAND in Task Order 14-0025.
