Coast Guard starts missionization of 19th C-130J long range surveillance aircraft

The Coast Guard inducted its 19th C-130J Super Hercules long range surveillance aircraft into the missionization process at L3Harris Integrated Mission Systems in Waco, Texas, on June 3. Following completion of the yearlong integration of the specialized equipment needed for Coast Guard missions, this aircraft will support the transition of Air Station Sacramento, California, from C-27J to HC-130J operations.

The Coast Guard commissioned its latest fast response cutter (FRC), Coast Guard Cutter Frederick Mann, on Feb. 13 in Kodiak, Alaska. Frederick Mann is the third of three FRCs to be homeported at Coast Guard Base Kodiak.

Coast Guard awards contract to enhance Training Center Cape May

On May 7, the Coast Guard awarded a contract valued at up to $400 million to The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company for the design and construction of new facilities at Coast Guard Training Center Cape May, New Jersey.

The Coast Guard awarded a contract Feb. 10 for construction of up to five arctic security cutters (ASCs), increasing the number of ASCs on contract to 11. This latest action brings the program to full strength and marks a historic milestone in U.S. Arctic capability while fulfilling President Trump’s directive to rapidly expand America’s icebreaker fleet.

Coast Guard delivers modernized facility to support operations in Buffalo

The Coast Guard unveiled a new facility to support the full range of Station Buffalo and Aids to Navigation Team (ANT) Buffalo missions on Jan. 12, completing a two-year, $32 million construction project. The building was completed three months ahead of schedule and marks the first major investment in infrastructure improvement at the station since 2014.
