Update to Readiness Management Period (RMP) Policy

ALCOAST 343/22 updates the policy for Readiness Management Periods (RMPS): RMPs without pay must be a minimum of two hours in duration and not more than one RMP will be performed by an individual in one calendar day; and, b. RMPs for pay will not be less than four hours in duration and not more than one paid RMP will be performed by an individual in one calendar day.

ALCOAST 140/22  announced the implementation of a maternity absence policy for new mothers. There will not be a separate Duty Status category in Direct Access (DA) for maternity absence – it is IDT; however, we are working to add a “Maternity Absence” Duty Purpose in DA.  Until that is added, commands should use the MED Duty Purpose. Reserve Component use of Contracted Airline Fares for IDT

This ALCOAST serves to bring awareness to and provide instructions for using the General Services Administration's (GSA) Airline City Pairs Program (CPP). This program, while not mandatory but authorized lessens the burden for Reserve component travel for IDT by allowing the purchase of contracted government fares. An added benefit is CPP fares can be reserved last minute and are refundable. Members are responsible for service fees.

Inactive Duty Training (IDT) Subsistence Allowance While Drilling Remotely

​ACN 054/20​ promulgates policy regarding IDT subsistence allowance, formally IDT COMRATS, for enlisted reservists performing paid Inactive Duty for Training (IDT), Readiness Management Period (RMP), or Additional Training Period (ATP) drills remotely. ​Coast Guard enlisted reservists who are authorized to conduct training remotely are not authorized a subsistence allowance for periods of IDT, RMP, or ATP performed at their home, regardless of the duration of those periods.
