A major change in Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) for household goods (HHG) transportation was announced on June 24. Previously, members had a year following retirement to coordinate their HHG transportation. Now, members have three years to schedule their HHG after retirement.

Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) Program And Personally Procured Moves (PPM)
ALCGPSC message 085/22 waives the GTCC restriction on PPMs contained for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) to help overcome challenges stemming from the lack of household good (HHG) mover availability. This policy waiver supports increased reliance on PPM for members with Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders having difficulty scheduling government furnished movers.

Although not yet fully updated to reflect changes brought on by the implementation FSMS and ETS, it remains an important resource for the proper preparation of PCS and TDY orders.

The 2022 HHG transportation season will soon be upon us, and with
it comes the importance of HHG counseling. To ensure all members
have the most success with their movement of HHGs commands are
highly encouraged to provide each transferring or separating member
with a copy of this ALCOAST and include HHGs counseling on PCS

The HHG transportation peak season, which runs from 15 May
through 31 August, is fast approaching. During peak season it may be
difficult to secure a Government-contracted transportation service
provider (TSP) that meets the member's desired packing, pick-up,
and delivery dates. If a TSP cannot be contracted, or if a member
prefers, they may perform a full or partial PPM
