Subscribers to this list will receive notices and information on Coast Guard military pay and personnel policy and procedures. Change to May 2021 Servicewide Examination Administration Schedule
ALCGENL 039/21 Update 1, May 2021 Servicewide Examination Competition, announced additional flexibility in administering the exam: The new schedule is:
a. AM and PM 04 MAY 2021 (Tuesday) SWE for ADV to E-5,
b. AM and PM 05 MAY 2021 (Wednesday) SWE for ADV to E-6,
c. AM 06 MAY 2021 (Thursday) SWE for ADV to E-7,
d. PM 06 MAY 2021 (Thursday) SWE for ADV to E-8.

COVID-19: Impacted Assignment Year 21 (AY21): PCS and HHG Shipments - SITREP 2
This message cancels ALCOAST 030/21 and provides updated information
and resources for Coast Guard military members transferring this
assignment year. While the information provided in this message
will be of particular interest to those transferring in AY21,
it also includes critical information to commands, supervisors,
and SPO/ADMIN offices to assist their members in planning, preparing
for, and executing PCS orders. Communications will continue to
be a key factor in the overall success of the transfer season.

Travel and leave policy returns to pre-pandemic status
With the exception of unofficial foreign travel, the Coast Guard has returned travel and leave approval procedures for military member to pre-pandemic status. All members should continue to make travel decisions based on the most recent travel guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

Body Composition Program Update (Flag Voice 539)
To provide a data point of readiness and health well-being, all Coast Guard members will undergo the April 2021 BCS. However, understanding the continued impact of COVID-19, no members will be placed on probation or processed for separation from the Service; no strikes will be issued. Any member not in compliance will be required to undergo a medical screening and counseling for healthy nutrition and safe weight loss.

This ALCOAST announces impending modifications to take-home pay, for both civilian employees and military members of the Coast Guard, who had their payroll tax deferred in Sep, Oct, Nov, and Dec 2020.

Hardship Duty Pay-Restriction of Movement and other COVID-19 Pay and Allowances
ALCOAST 278/20 formally authorizes, as of 03 April 2020, HARDSHIP DUTY PAY-RESTRICTION OF MOVEMENT (HDP-ROM) and other temporary policy changes for several travel allowance, Food Service policy, and certain Special & Incentive (S&I) pays as part of the overall military effort to support our members and their families during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Pay and Personnel Center is now processing these claims in accordance with the following guidelines and procedures.

This ALCOAST cancels REF (A) and provides all Coast Guard (CG) members with travel and leave policy as it relates to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). The intent of this ALCOAST is to update procedures for leave and foreign travel. This is in response to the changing force health protection posture in relation to COVID-19.
