DIRECT ACCESS OUTAGE PREPARATION

Starting 0600 EST, Friday, October 13, 2023, there will be no availability to Direct Access while tasks are being performed to support the Disaster Recovery Test. Direct Access is scheduled to be reactivated at 0600 EST, Monday, October 16, 2023. This outage is necessary to avoid the submission of self-service and SPO transactions during the test. National Defense Service Medal Award Termination Date

The ALCOAST (433/22) announces the termination date for award of the National Defense Service Medal (NDSM). The NDSM is awarded based on the United States' conducting large-scale combat operations in designated geographic locations as a result of the terrorist attacks on the United States that occurred on 11 September 2001. The award period is from 12 September 2001 to 31 December 2022.

Continued Suspension of CPOA Requirement for Advancement

CPOA sessions have returned to full capacity after COVID-19 closures, but a significant backlog of students will exist in the short-term future. Until the backlog is resolved, members already advanced to E-7 will receive the highest priority to allow them to compete for E-8. Members above the cutoff for E-7 must follow existing procedures to request CPOA and be ready to attend upon a space available basis.

New Pay Entitlement - Assignment Incentive Pay for Cutters Undergoing Maintenance Periods (AIP-CMP)

Assignment Incentive Pay for Cutters Undergoing Maintenance Periods (AIP-CMP), a special pay. AIP-CMP may be paid to active duty officers and enlisted members entitled to Basic Pay under REF (B), including Reservists on active duty who are permanently assigned to a career sea pay (CSP) eligible cutter, and whose CSP has been stopped in conjunction with a lengthy cutter maintenance period, such as SLEP, MMA, etc. AIP-CMP is authorized effective 01 OCT 2022 in the amount of $200 per month.

This ALCOAST announces the establishment of Assignment Incentive Pay for Pre-commissioning Cutter Crews (AIP-PCC), a special pay. AIP-PCC may be paid to active duty officers and enlisted members entitled to Basic Pay, including Reservists on active duty who are permanently assigned as part of a designated pre-commissioning cutter crew, and is authorized effective 01 SEP 2022 in the amount of $200 per month.

Your PCS move just got easier—Coast Guard Mutual Assistance rolls out two new programs in support

Your Coast Guard family’s permanent change of duty station (PCS) move is now supported by two new programs offered by Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA). As of Jan. 1, 2022, both programs operate year-round and provide compensation toward specific family relocation fees. The first is a grant, called the Education Advocate Grant, and the second is a no-interest loan, called the Spouse Professional Requirements Loan Program.
