Coast Guard adopts DoD form for retired pay accounts

CG Form 4700, Coast Guard, PHS & NOAA Retired Pay Account Worksheet and Survivor Benefit Plan Election is being phased out. Coast Guard, PHS and NOAA personnel will join their DoD counterparts and begin using DD Form 2656, Data for Payment of Retired Personnel to establish their retired pay accounts at the Pay & Personnel Center.

Travel and leave policy returns to pre-pandemic status

With the exception of unofficial foreign travel, the Coast Guard has returned travel and leave approval procedures for military member to pre-pandemic status. All members should continue to make travel decisions based on the most recent travel guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

COVID-19: Calendar Year 2021 Travel and Leave SITREP 2

This ALCOAST cancels SITREP 1 (ALCOAST 046/21) and revises procedures for foreign/domestic leave and travel. Due to current trends of the pandemic combined with the national vaccination effort, leave and travel approval policies, except for unofficial foreign travel, are returned to pre-pandemic status. However, leave and travel approving officials should weigh individual member vaccination status (vaccinated versus un-vaccinated) and site specific location COVID-19 conditions when conducting readiness risk assessment and approving leave and travel requests.

Mandatory Updates to MILCONNECT (Flag Voice 541)

Coast Guard employees are required to update their work contact information in milConnect, as part of the ongoing transition from the Commercial Virtual Remote (CVR) version of Microsoft Teams to Coast Guard Teams and in order to meet the requirements set forth by US CYBER COMMAND in Task Order 14-0025.
