Readiness Management Periods for Recruiting Efforts
This ALCOAST announces an update to the Reserve Duty Status and Participation Manual, COMDTINST M1001.2, authorizing Readiness Management Period (RMP) duty to help meet the Coast Guard's active duty, reserve, and officer accession goals. Unless funding is specifically allocated and authorized, RMPs shall be performed without pay, for points only.

Prepare for Upcoming Direct Access Outage
ALCOAST 350/22 announces necessary preparations in advance of the scheduled system outage to Direct Access. The system outage is required to support the Disaster Recovery Test of the Coast Guard's Human Capital Management system. The test is scheduled to begin at 0600 (Eastern Time), Friday, October 14 and should be completed by 0600 (Eastern Time), Saturday, October 15, 2022. The system will not be available to login or use during the test.

Update to Readiness Management Period (RMP) Policy
ALCOAST 343/22 updates the policy for Readiness Management Periods (RMPS): RMPs without pay must be a minimum of two hours in duration
and not more than one RMP will be performed by an individual in one
calendar day; and, b. RMPs for pay will not be less than four hours in duration and
not more than one paid RMP will be performed by an individual in one

ETQC Training Advisory 008-22, Processing FY23 C School, A School and Accession Course TDY Orders
The successful implementation of practices discussed in reference (a), eliminated the challenges members were experiencing with Direct Access (DA) generated training administration system (TAS) orders. Due to this success, FORCECOM will continue the practice of permitting local units to manage the administration of FY23 "C" school TDY orders to include initiation of the authorization, funds certification, and AO approval. Maintaining uniformity in FORCECOM business processes, at the start of FY23, these instructions will also apply to both Accession (e.g. DCO, OCS, DEPOT) and “A” school TDY orders. These instructions do not apply to PCS orders to the subject schools.

Additional Information Required When Submitting Trouble Tickets for Tax Issues
Attach a copy of the member's current IRS form W-4 to all trouble tickets for tax issues.
In order to determine if there are any programming problems or if DA is calculating taxes correctly, a copy of members W-4 is required. This is based on the guidance provided by IRS in Publication 15-T. There are certain areas that are only filled out on the actual W-4 that is needed information in order for us to calculate what system should be doing.

Coast Guard Leased Housing Program Update
Contacting the housing office early in the PCS season allows time to request a waiver to leased housing eligibility if circumstances merit an exception. If Coast Guard leased housing is the best solution, the housing office may now contract that housing in advance, up to 60 days, in order to ensure its availability in time for your arrival.

New TRICARE Dental Program Premiums Effective May 1
Are you enrolled in the TRICARE Dental Program (TDP)? If you are, you should know that the TDP monthly premiums changed on May 1. The new premium rates are in effect for the TDP plan year, which runs from May 1, 2022 through April 30, 2023.
